Product Design

Developing and launching a new product takes time and resources. That’s why dedicating resources to user experience is so important. Whether it be existing platforms, learning management systems, customer relationship management tools, or customized tools to meet your business’ needs, proper user research and product design is key to building a successful product.

During my time with Special Pathogens Laboratory, I had the opportunity to help launch LegiMapper, a tool to help businesses better understand the water flow through their building with water management plans that can be made in minutes.

By pushing to put the product in front of real prospective users of this specialized software, critical pain points in the experience were overcome while growing the product to include people focused features like templates for common system types and more robust logic to help lay out complex flows.

This product was developed with multiple user needs in mind, with improvements only possible through collecting real world feedback and connecting with industry experts about the needs of businesses to help them adhere to complex legal standards.
